We are still alive!

Wow, has it really been since July since I posted on this thing. well Life is as always CrAzY. we have had a great summer and fall. I changed jobs, I am no longer a painter for ASD, I am a Glazier for ASD. I had a bad hunting season this year 'cause I messed my ankle up on the deer hunt and that pretty much put an end to my hunts. Tami is so busy with the kids, its crazy all she does is run from place to place and clean up after them. I wish I could take her on a long vacation. Ky is in the 3rd grade and played his first year of tackle football this fall, his team went undefeated, and won the UVFL superbowl. he is now plying basketball and he really likes it but he tries to shoot the ball like throwing a football. Kash is Kash we mised wrestling sign up this year so he gets his wrestling in on Ky and he usally wins he is fearless. brynn goes to pre-school twice a week and is getting so smart. Kayl is so funny he has started the terrible two's for sure, and has a real attachment issue with his mommy. and is super jealous of anyone that tami spends time with especially me.
We are all well, and looking forward to Christmas, I will write again......Maybe

Rain Rain Go Away!

Well, we made it home from our trip to the Boulder Mountains over memorial weekend. without injury...WOW! We had a good time even though it rained all day Saturday. it was still fun.
We got there and set up camp and ate dinner. it was our night night to cook. we made pulled pork sandwiches and they were yummy. then we sat around the fire and then just about dark the rain came and it rained and rained all night. Saturday we decided to drive in to capitol reef.
I had never been there it was really cool even in the rain. we hiked out to the "goosenecks" and looked over a 1000 foot drop... that will make your belly tingle especially with Kash climbing on the rail. then we drove down through Capitol Gorge, that was way cool. the boys and I went for a hike through the gorge and Tami and the little ones sat in the car... it rained hard while we were on our hike and it was neat to watch the water run down those canyon walls. we got back to the car and Tami left the keys on to watch a movie and the headlights were on so the battery was dead. so I asked this dude for a jump and he said what are" jumper cables, I am from Germany, and this is a rental." but another guy overheard and offered to jump me. I think he works for sears cause he kept tyring to sell me a diehard battery...ha ha. the we drove back to camp and sat in the tent while it rain some more.
Sunday morning was nice the sky was blue and sunny so we loaded up and drove to Lower Bowns Res. and did alittle fishing the kids had fun and we caught a bunch of fish. then it started to rain so we got back in the car and drove over the boulders into the town of boulder and went to the Anazi state park. and then back to camp. the Boys and I went for a wheeler ride and guess what... yep you got it, it stated to rain. we came back, ate dinner and went to bed.
Monday we broke Camp and drove to Loa to see Grandpa Taylor's Grave, Tami had not been in a long time we meet up with Clara, Diane, Jeanine, and Grandma Taylor for lunch and then headed for home. we got home and cleaned up... I HATE RED MUD!
It was another fine Memorial weekend trip I'm just glad we made it home with all our fingers and toes even if they were alittle wrinkled up from all the water... cant wait for next year.

Our '09 family salsa garden

Well we got the garden all in. We planted mainly peppers, (serranos, jalapenos, anchos, santa fe grandes, and the best of all F-1 salsa chiles) yum yum. Tomatoes ( mostly Romas and a few moscows) onions, carrots, watermelon (I am going to risk them again this year after having them all stolen last year.) cantaloupe, cucumbers, squash, zuccini, and a couple pumkins for the kids.  We planted it all last week and now we go over nightly and give all the little starts a drink , we put down plastic this year to help keep the weeds down and give the melons the heat and moisture that they love.
well since I last updated this Ky got braces on his front teeth (if that crap ain't train robbery I don't know what is.) $$$$ but you got to do what you got to do to make room for those teeth or else, and he is to handsome to have bad teeth. He has choosen to skip hockey this year to pursue his true love of the gridiron, he wants to play tackle football this fall so he practices every day.  Kash needs to get involved in some sort of sport but I cant get either one of the to play baseball, Ky says its to boring so naturally so does Kash even though he has never played, he thinks he would like soccer or hockey so he will be doing one of those. all the kids are ready for summer it was 80 degrees today so they had to run through the sprinklers.
We are going on our annual friends camp over memorial day, I cant wait I have cabin fever so bad I can taste it. I will be sure to post about it after we get home, it is always a good time even if one of the kids end up in the fire (Kash).

Pinewood Derby Time

Ky's first pinewood derby was a pretty awesome. He helped me design and cut it out and sand, and I finished sanded, primed and painted, it had a wicked paint job if I do say so myself it was a neon green to black fade over fish net for a lizard scale effect then I hit it with about 8 coats of lacquer and buffed it too a mirror finish it was sweet then I took the wheels and axles to work and Les (my boss) who is sort of a pinewood guru helped me with some balancing and honing of the axles and such. Lets just say it was ready to roll. and it did it won all of it preliminary heats and went in to the finals and won 2 heats and came in second in the other two in the final heat he tied for 3rd and had to have a race off for 3rd, they let them choose their lanes...lane 2 had been hot all night and I said lane 2... Ky he went up and placed his car in lane 1 the slowest of the 4. the guy hit the switch and off they went nose to nose the whole way...... and he lost by a hair. he took 4th overall out of 20 cars, not too shabby for his 1st race, next year that sucker is ours. it will be tough to beat that paint job though.

We finally got or new computer so YEAH! I can update the blog. well since the last time alot has happend so Im not going to try to catch up i'll just start with the most recent stuff. Tami and the boys went to Disneyland and the beach. while I stayed home with Brynn and Kayl we all had fun. the boys loved disneyland they had a blast, Ky liked the Matterhorn the best and Kash liked slash mountain and the nemo rides, but he HATES the tower of terror it was in his words "STUPID!" they wore themselves out. They had a good trip even though Tami did have one little run in with the law that she tried to keep from me, a little bird told me... well actually a bullhorn named Kash told me... ha ha. Brynn, Kayl and I just chilled at hom and did yard work and put up our new trampoline, we had fun too and didn't miss mom and the boys at all. yeah right, they were very good. it was good to have them home safe, although he brought home some sort of california flu both boys have had the pukes and now Tami says shes not feeling well. hope we all dont get it.

Something fun to do with SNOW!

It has snowed so much around here the past week or two. It has been a pretty crazy winter. The Kids love to sled, I pull them around the neighborhood on the 4 wheeler after each snow storm... but today I got off work and we drove up hobble creek canyon and went tubing it was so Fun.
Ky and Kash wore themselves out running up and down the hill... and oh by the way... Kash hit a tree (imagine that) but he is ok. Brynn would only go down the hill if Dad was holding on to her tightly. Kayl absolutly loved it he wanted to go more and more.

We stayed until just about dark, it was getting cold and my kids a such woose's when it comes to cold, I don't know how they will ever go hunting with me. We drove home and they just about knocked each other over trying to get to the warm tub, when they ran in the house.

I have been out spotting deer and elk this past week, its one of my work day habits ( it's the ALPINE way! ha ha.) and I have seen a few Nice deer and a bunch of nice bull elk. I wish I had a camera that would take picture through a spotting scope 'cause I watched a monster buck today...he was a beautiful 190" class buck. it was cool.
Well 'til next time bundle up and stay warm... drive safe and thanks for stopping by. Take Care.
